The Hasselt Student Regatta is an annual event that takes place in Hasselt, Belgium. It is a spectacular rowing competition where student teams from various Limburg colleges and universities (UCLL, PXL and UHasselt) compete against each other on the Albert Canal. Known for its lively atmosphere and competitive spirit, the event attracts both participants and spectators from all over the country. The regatta offers students the opportunity to show off their rowing skills, make new friends and enjoy a day of sports and fun. It is a great way to connect the Hasselt student community and have an unforgettable experience on and off the water.
An entire academic year is spent training and working hard by the various rowers towards the Hasselt Student Regatta. During this rowing event it is decided which institution has the best rowing team that year. There is a competition for the 1-seat men, 1-seat women, 2-seat mixed and 8-seat mixed. There is also a B-boat race that determines which institution gets the benefit of a very favorable choice, namely which lane they will row in.
In 2005, the Hasselt Student Regatta was organized for the first time. Each year, the institutions professionalized their training more and more which made the Hasselt Student Regatta grow into the prestige competition that it is today.
Would you also like to combine studies with this fun challenge, compete for your institution and effectively be part of a cohesive team of rowers? The sports coordinators with their captains will welcome and guide you with open arms.
